Reims' municipal and community archives constitute the history of the city.
There are three kilometres of archives that may be consulted by anyone, be they historians, genealogists, schoolchildren, students, lawyers, local civil servants, etc.
They mostly go back to the 12C, although the oldest document dates from the 9C and the most recent from the 1990s.
Those of the Ancien Régime and French Revolution are especially noteworthy.
