Rated fifth among French automobile museums for the size of its collections, Reims-Champagne Automobile Museum is run by a group of collectors, who own some of the 200 vehicles on display, the presentation of which is regularly revised.
The collection includes cars and motorbikes from 1908 to the present day, some models of which were produced in very limited numbers, including a survivor from Automobiles S.C.A.R. in Witry-les-Reims. Other prestigious examples include a 1910 Sizaire-Berwick, a 1919 Coupé Docteur Alba de 1919,  a Citroën 11 AL and a Panhard 24.
The museum also boasts some rare motorbikes (Alcyon, Condor, DKW, Terrot, etc.), nearly 110 pedal-operated cars, a collection of enamelled plates and over 5,000 miniatures and toy cars.
The enthusiasts who now run the museum took over from its creator, Philippe Charbonneaux, a self-taught man and pioneer of French industrial design who was simultaneously an artist, illustrator, engineer, architect, inventor and collector. Reputed for his design work, his work included many different articles -  refrigerator, torch, pen, television, computer and “integrated line” bodywork – 75 models in all including Corvette, Chevrolet, Delahaye 235, Renault R8, R16, etc.
In 1985, he installed his collection in the old MMM (Menuiserie Métallique Moderne) workshops, which subsequently became the historic centre of the French motoring world; there's no other museum like it.
