ESAD

ESAD (Reims College of Art & Design) has gained such an excellent reputation that it is now considered to be one of the best schools of its kind in France today.

Teaching excellence
Besides being involved in other professional activities, ESAD's teachers are all high-flying creators from France or abroad, offering innovative approaches that are open to all forms of creativity where the words “Art” and “Design” form a daily alchemy.

Innovative teaching methods
Teaching is focused on fostering creativity, awakening and maturing personality, nurturing the spirit of analysis and critical faculties, favouring a methodological project approach and raising awareness when it comes to personal work time management. It aims at developing cross-fertilisation between Art and Design and helping students master the multiple techniques in the field of contemporary creative visual arts.

Experimentation and research enable these techniques to be applied to project work. From the third year onwards, training is centred around students' personal projects and encourages them to make up their own curriculum from the many disciplines on offer at the college.
ESAD is also responsible for the development of a new discipline: Culinary Design, which is gradually finding a place in industrial applications and is now offered at many of the top European design schools.

Students with ambition, commitment and a sense of responsibility
The demanding requirements both at initial selection and at the end of the first year allows the constitution of student teams driven by the same ambition, a common spirit of friendly cooperation and the will to succeed.
An international objective: Having signed the ERASMUS Charter, ESAD offers its students numerous possibilities for exchanges with other European schools.
In return, it welcomes foreign students and teachers, thereby paving the way for high-level international professional activities.

The school's ethos
The majority of graduates from previous years take an interest in ESAD's future and, as such, become involved in meetings, conferences, workshops and offers of courses which enhance the training of their junior counterparts and provide dynamic drive.

The international objective
To ensure its survival, a school must have a strong internationally-recognised identity. As such, ESAD in Reims aims to become one of France's specialist centres for the teaching of "Art and Design" in Europe.
