UNESCO World Heritage in Reims
Four buildings listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites since 1991:

A masterpiece of Gothic architecture built in the 13C with a great wealth of fine statues.
The cathedral is famous for having been the church in which the kings of France were crowned.

The former Royal Abbey of Saint Remi, where the holy ampulla used during the coronation ceremony of the kings of France, is now Reims’ museum of history and regional archaeology.
Open daily from 2 to 6.30pm; Saturday & Sunday from 2 to 7pm. Closed in the morning and on certain public holidays. Free admission on the first Sunday of every month.

Formerly the archbishop’s palace, this building contains souvenirs of the royal coronations, as well as statues and sculptures from the cathedral that are in too poor a state of repair to be left in place.
